Recife is intense, diverse, chaotic and may not be pretty at first sight. But it is real and you may find beauty where you had not seen before, if you give a second look. Recife does not hide the truth, even when it tries, but truth can become a great experience if you face it closer and with an open mind. Truth can also be surprising, fun, delightful. People, food, history, culture, technology, nature, party - all mixed together in a metropolis that will welcome you even if you don't want to see the truth.

You want to know
Where is Recife ?
Recife is in the Northeastern part of South America, facing the Atlantic Ocean. It is close to the eastern-most point of the Americas.
Recife is the capital city of Pernambuco State in the NorthEastern Region of Brazil.
How I get to Recife ?
The Recife International Guararapes Gilberto Freyre Airport(REC) has hundreds of flights a day. It is served by all major Brazilian Airlines (Azul, Gol, Latam, VoePass) and by Portugal´s TAP. REC is linked with direct domestic flights to all major airports in Brazil, to include Belo Horizonte (CNF), Brasília (BSB), Campinas (VCP), Fortaleza (FOR), Manaus (MAO), Porto Alegre (POA), Rio de Janeiro (GIG & SDU), Salvador (SSA), São Paulo (CGH & GRU) and others.
Are there direct international flights ?
REC has direct international flights to Buenos Aires (Argentina), Fort Lauderdale (USA), Lisbon (Portugal) and Montevideo (Uruguay). But you can reach Recife from more than 200 airports globally with only 1 connection either through the above international airports or any of the major airports in Brazil.
Can I get to Recife by Bus or Train ?
There is no interstate passanger train line serving Recife, but there are plenty of intercity and interstate bus lines connecting Recife to many cities in Brazil. The interstate bus terminal is called TIP (Terminal Integrado de Passageiros). A caution is that TIP is out of the city, so you either need local public transportation (bus or metro), taxi or Uber to get to the city once you arrive at TIP.
